Joe Simko Personal Sketch
I recently got this amazing drawing from GPK artist Joe Simko. Joe was kind enough to take time out to sketch my favourite character and personalise the picture with
'Don't sweat the heat Shaun'
The drawing is around 5x7 in size and is now one of the prides of my collection.
New Additions To My Collection
Recently acquired a couple more Fryin' additions to my collection. First up a Brent Engstrom Sketch from BNS3, so far the only BNS3 artist that included any sketches of Fryin' in BNS3. My other pick up was a loose Pop Up by Imperial Toys, a very nice item that I won on eBay at a very cheap price.

Dustin Graham Sketch
Topps artist Dustin Graham has been working on some great giveaways via his Facebook page using various GPK characters hand painted and signed on textured mini sketch cards. The 4th character Dustin chose to use was our Fryin' Brian!
Each sketch is hand signed by Dustin and is a 1/1 sketch. Can't wait to have this beautiful sketch added to my collection!

Custom David Lizanetz Painting
Fellow GPK collector and Fryin' Brian collector Brian Martin sent me images of this amazing custom painting he bought. The original painting was done by artist David Lizanetz from Sour Apple Gallery in Phoenix Arizona.
The painting depicts a marsh mellow being toasted off Fryin's heat lol Hence the "Toasted" title above the artists signature on the reverse. This original artwork is hand painted acrylic paint on top of original GPK stickers which were pasted to canvas as a background. Please check out other Garbage Pail Kids paintings David has done which are available as 11x14 prints and are limited to 50 of each.
David's work for sale can be found here http://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/SourAppleGallery

BNS 3 Sketch
So far with the release of BNS3 i've seen a serious lack of Fryin' sketches up on eBay! I did get a heads up from fellow UGer Lizzy (http://www.myfriendlizzy.com/) about this Brent Engstrom sketch on a BIN of a bargain price of $40
This will be my first Engstrom Fryin' sketch too my collection! Let's hope more Fryin' BNS3 sketches appear!

Missed Out On eBay Chrome Autos!
So two listings for the Chrome Fryin' Brian cards signed by John Pound have appeared on eBay and unfortunately I've missed out on both!
The first here listed for $199 went for a best offer price but the seller unfortunately couldn't wait for payment so no offer was made by myself
This one was listed at $250 and the best offer was accepted but unfortunately my offer wasn't the highest and so i missed on on this one too!
I will continue to search and will add this card to my collection!

Fryin' Bukimi Kun
Recently over on the GPKUG the holy grail of Garbage Pail Kids and of Fryin' Brian's became available to buy by collector 'underakillingmoon'
The Japanese Bukimi Kun version of Fryin' Brian. Bukimi Kun are probably the rarest of all foreign Garbage Pail Kids cards and there are probably only around 200 known in existence. What makes the Fryin' Brian card a little more special is there are two known variants of the card, one with censored black bars and one without.

The card for sale was very crisp looking, well centred and was the black censored bar version of the two variants of this card. The card was sold privately for an unknown amount but I was informed that it was over $500. If i could have afforded it believe me i would have like to have purchased this card but with other Bukimi Kun cards selling recently for $650+ then i suspect the actual price this card sold for was around or above that price! Way out of my league!

Fryin' Brian Pop Up On eBay
Something missing from my collection is the 1985 Imperial Toys Pop Up of Fryin' Brian. I found this loose one on eBay in pretty decent condition but the seller wants a lot for the starting bid (hence maybe why no bids) and almost as much to ship to the UK.
As much as i want this item i'm not sure i can justify £35 to get him to me providing no one else bids.

Sealed Peruvian La Pandilla Basura Packet
A friend TCT was kind enough to share this wonderful sealed Peruvian La Pandilla Basura packet image with me that has Fryin'/Electric on it (on the right is the Peruvian card)
A very rare piece indeed and as far as i know is the only time the image has appeared on any GPK packet? I would like this piece in my collection one day but first i still need to track down the card from that set.
Electric Bill Prison Art
Something completely different here when it comes to fan art, not from just any fan, but a fan held in a Californian Super Max Prison. This is a print from the original piece, the image was sent to me from a friend Derek 'DXTC' Berlin who bought the piece from a seller on eBay.
From the sellers description:
'Drawn in a California Supermax Isolation Unit using 100% Ball Point Pen, Filler and some Pastels. 100% Original Art. If your interested in having the artist draw you something of your own idea please let me know! Thank You!!!'
Something i would like to add to my collection, although i think an original would be even better, a very interesting and different drawing from someone with plenty of time on their hands lol I wonder if he'll one day be in Brian's/Bill's situation lol

Various Sketches
Here is a mixture of Official GPK artists sketches from various releases. I love seeing each artists take on the character, all different and yet all great in each artists style. Special props too Joe Simko's version, his work really took it too another level.
BNS1 - Joe Simko & Flashback 2 - Neil Camera
Flashback 2 - Layron Dejarnette & Flashback 1 - Fred Wheaton
BNS2 - Mark Pingitore & ANS4 - Don Perlin
I would love to have even one of these in my collection let alone all of them. It's nice to see that at least one artist has picked Fryin'/Electric to sketch in every GPK release that's had sketches included.

FB 3 Green, Pink, Silver & Gold both Fryin' Brian & Electric Bill
Deviant Fryin' Fan Art
Found this great fan drawing on deviant art by Dreekzilla. I really love this take on Fryin' the lightning to his eyes is something different to most sketches.
The art was uploaded to Deviant Art in June 2011.
Fan Art
Found this eBay auction while browsing the web for new Fryin' finds, just a shame the auction had ended like 3 days ago. It was 2 pieces of fan art drawn by artist Steve Potter. One piece in ink and the second piece which is computer coloured.
Now I know these aren't custom work by GPK artists but sometimes fan art can be very good and clearly he is a good artist.
"This is an original drawing of Garbage Pail Kids character Fryin' Brian / Electric Bill (card #4 from 1985 1st series). Drawn in 2010 and signed by artist Steve Potter. Drawn in ink (Also included a computer colored version), The original measures 9.5"x7" and the color version 9.5"x8.5" both suitable for framing. Actual card is not included and image is just for reference. Cheap art, FREE shipping! A nice illustration for a GPK fan. " |

Jeff Zapata's Crookie Crisp Cereal
Back in 2012 GPK artist Jeff Zapata created custom GPK cereal boxes using real cereal boxes and painting his own Garbage Pail Kids/Wacky style cereal using a character on each. I missed this auction and was told about it recently but wasn't able to find any images. Luckily the winning bidder of the item Patrick Walsh was kind enough to send me photos of the amazing Fryin' Brian cereal and sketch.
